Nutcracker Birthday Party
February 01, 2020
When Yesy of Love In Vintage asked me to create a Nutcracker Themed Cake, my mind instantly started coming up with ideas! Even before she told me the color scheme, I was already sketching up designs. Going to the Nutcracker Ballet was one of my favorite memories as a child. It was always so dreamy and magical. So needless to say I was beyond excited when she gave me the go ahead without much direction.
To accompany the cake, I knew there had to be ballet toppers. I painted all of the characters from the ballet with the intention of turning them into articulated paper dolls to use as toppers, and ended up adding lots of coordinating products.
Having a fake cake as the centerpiece helps keep kid hands out of real icing.
Of course these sweet girls were going to need real cake though! Sweet Charity’s Bakery made this beautiful cake, and all the amazing sweets for the party.
I love how she hand painted our images on these beautiful cookies!
Our cupcake toppers were added to these tasty cupcakes!
These plates were custom made for this party, and are now being carried in our shop! They come in three colors, shown here in the pink.
These hand painted ornaments made the perfect party favor.
Hope you enjoyed this beautiful party as much as sweet Ava did!
